i'm travelling the world at 22, teaching ppl ai

how tf?

yo,

journalling this from a cafe in buenos aires that’s renowned for having famous writers, philosophers come and work out of here.

ppl that won noble prizes apparently. pretty cool actually.

no idea who they are but i’’m gonna look them up.

what better environment to write in am i right?

i was having this thought that i’ve always liked to do things on a scale of 10/10, while the avg person would probably not deep it that much and just do it at an avg scale of 5/10 because they don’t care.

and i’m not talking about the big things - best jobs, cars, countries etc.

i mean the small things - like even picking the location to write this. i’m not going to stop myself from writing if its in my bedroom at 11pm at night.

but,

i’ll go out of my way and put in unreasonable effort to do the simple thing - writing - in the best environment possible. like writing in a new country in a cafe renowned for its writers, drinking a coffee with whiskey that’s mind-blowingly good.

is mind-blowingly a word? the writers’ ghosts are looking down upon me.

anyways,

i feel like the avg person in uni, at my age would spend spend their summer choosing the six figure internship offers i had or work for the crazy companies that have reached out to me from seeing my work online.

or even do something simpler - maybe another event in the same city teaching people ai.

the story i’m chasing

but i’m always chasing the best stories. for ex, travelling to 5 cities around the world, teaching 10k ppl ai, with no company backing, no team.

just a kid with a laptop and a camera, figuring it out.

but i somehow found a way to come to buenos aires, without having to pay money out of pocket, doing an event here, forming a relationship with a big tech community, teaching the population of buenos aires ai.

creating content that went viral here too.

idk maybe its just the ego speaking, i do think its important for me to have one and be proud of it. without it, i never would’ve had the balls to go to a completely new country (a new continent for me) with a whole different language and find a way to teach people ai there.

i’m so grateful and proud to call this work. i’m so grateful to be lucky. i’m so grateful for the full circle moments along the way.

without which, this whole event wouldn’t have been possible.

the last year i’ve only focused on maximizing my luck surface area and it’s paid off in ways i couldn’t have ever imagined.

but yeah, i’m not going to go into the details here - but i will upload a video on youtube talking about the whole story.

the next city

for now, buenos aires was a success. now its onto the next city - santiago, chile.

apparently, there’s a 10 year old class there that taught entrepreneurship. 80% of ppl who attended that got into yc, built massive companies.

its called el classe, and everyone in chile knows about it.

again, why do an event in a place like sf where the ppl already know about ai? that’s a 5/10 thing an avg person would do.

why not do it in a country, in a a classroom with a story like el clase!

man, i’m so excited to be alive, its so hard to describe, maybe the whisky from the irish coffee is hitting, or maybe because i know these things are not out of reach for me.

being able to do business in international countries, with new languages and cultures has given me so much confidence in my abilities.

here’s a tweet from a good friend that puts it nicely:

not all sunshine and rainbows

but i wanna be honest.

80% of the time i feel like i have no idea what i’m doing, and everything is going to shit. but i just have to remind myself that life is about a few well-calculated risks that compound like crazy.

the business model

this week i’m experimenting with a 2 week paid cohort charging ppl $150 and getting guest speakers, building this cohort for the transformation of building your first app with ai and getting paying users.

the summer tour is a temporary thing - i would love to travel to new cities and do events there but not as a full time business through an events company.

i think the better play is an online community that i curate expert talks and live workshops for, keep them building and then do meetups in different cities once in a while.

so yeah that’s the plan for the week.

i’ve paid a lot of money for a copywriting course since jan and i’ve been loving getting direct feedback on my writing. i’m using a lot of that in the funnels and copy i write.

here’s the sales page i have so far if interested.

i’m a big believer in copywriting, and geek about good copy.

i’m also a big beliver in paying for online courses and getting feedback from experts. ppl hate on them so much, but i’ve spent thousands of dollars on them and gotten back so much value and saved so much time.

alright that’s it from my side for now.

p.s: here’s the best irish coffee i’ve had in my life:
