Week 1 in SF as a first time founder.

"There are decades where nothing happens, and days where decades happen."

That’s exactly what week 1 in SF has felt like.

Attending events, meeting incredible people—it’s unreal to witness the future AI agents are bringing.

Especially with the launch of Deepseek R1 and OpenAI’s operator.

Being in SF, surrounded by those building this future, is like looking into a magic crystal ball and seeing an entirely new world.

Zero to one by Peter Thiel also hits different when you’re walking by the companies’ HQs while listening to it.

For anyone new to SF, I found this starter guide super helpful: https://lnkd.in/g-ue9auK

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned so far: get to events as quickly as possible and meet as many people as you can early on.

Talk to people from different backgrounds until you start recognizing patterns—it’s the fastest way to understand the ecosystem.

I love how everyone here is incredibly open to giving feedback.

A great insight I got: incubators like YC and Techstars follow similar playbooks, and talking to their founders is the “third door” to learning and implementing those strategies.

Right now, I’m commuting three hours daily from Milpitas to SF, but I’m working on changing that.

I applied for a membership at The Commons and was lucky enough to get a scholarship!

Applying to founder houses next in the city or finding someone to crash with at UC Berkeley.

Proximity is power, and I plan on being in SF as much as possible.
